I took my first colour slides in 1955 on ASA 10 Kodachrome film. By 1959 I had a wife and a new baby daughter, which led me to purchase a small, wind-up 8mm. movie camera. The first daughter will celebrate her 50th birthday early next year. Those original reels of movie film have survived almost half a century remarkably well. The old Kodachrome had a resistance to fading which later colour films could not rival. Now in my dotage, I need to share those early memories with 10 grandchildren, and their families.
For obvious reasons, the old technology of film reels and shaking projectors does not suit modern households. I found the solution by having the film scanned, digitised and converted to DVD discs by Filmplus, who took every care with our priceless recorded family history. Now with copies held by all family members, these histories are secure from the ravages of time. I highly recommend Filmplus for the quality and care they took with our work.
